Unlike many after-school programs that focus on specific activities or niches, JCP provides weekly therapy sessions conducted by licensed professional therapists, along with exposure to various forms of art. This combination of therapy and creative expression helps address the emotional and psychological needs of the children. The sense of community within JCP is palpable, with children forming strong bonds and looking out for each other like family. Practices such as expressing gratitude before meals and verbalizing positive traits we see in each other help instill values of love and affection. The kids quickly become comfortable expressing their emotions and affection, often seeking hugs and saying "I love you." This sense of belonging and love is so strong that children express a desire to stay with the program for as long as possible, highlighting the profound impact JCP has on their lives.
